Everyone deserves to see a doctor when they are sick.
If you can’t afford health insurance or if your deductibles and co-pays are so high you can’t afford to go to the doctor, that’s not freedom.
Our choices in Tennessee shouldn’t be limited to living in either a healthcare desert or under a medical monopoly. Hospitals in rural towns are closing at alarming rates. And in the parts of our state where hospitals aren’t closing, one giant corporation controls all access.
We must immediately expand Medicaid in Tennessee.
This isn’t a controversial idea; 38 states have already expanded Medicaid, including our neighbors Kentucky and Arkansas. What’s more, 65% of Tennesseans support Medicaid expansion.
It’s fiscally wise to reclaim the federal tax dollars we are paying into the system year after year and put those funds to work improving the quality of life for all Tennesseans.
